The Reverend Becky Robbins-Penniman has been serving the Church of the Good Shepherd since September, 2010. She came here from Lamb of God Church in Fort Myers, FL, a parish known for bold innovation, energetic hospitality, and a lively children’s ministry. Prior to her move there in 2002, Becky served a brand new church start near Columbus Ohio, where she and her family had lived for many years.
Becky was ordained a deacon in 2000 and a priest in 2001, after graduating from Trinity Lutheran Seminary (Columbus, OH). Although she is a cradle Episcopalian, Becky deeply appreciates the depth and rigor of her studies with the Lutherans, and the ecumenical insight gained by learning and worshiping among those who were different from her.
Before being called to the priesthood, Becky was an attorney. She attended Kenyon College (Gambier, OH) and the Ohio State University College of Law (Columbus, OH). The bulk of her 16-year practice was spent prosecuting white collar crimes and advising state agencies.
Becky and her husband, Gus, love living and serving in Dunedin. They have two grown children and three granddogs.
