Exciting New Worship Opportunity

Dear Good Shepherd,

I am excited to announce a new worship opportunity at Good Shepherd beginning in February!

I have been in conversations with our Worship Committee and the Vestry, and with great enthusiasm we will be starting a new service on Wednesdays at 6pm. This service will include a Eucharist most of the time and will also include opportunities to explore different liturgies used across the church, such as Taizé. At different times of the year we will look at adding things on to this service such as Lenten suppers, or formation opportunities. The possibilities are endless!

Things are constantly shifting as we near the two year mark of life with Covid. Along with staffing and clergy changes, this period has brought many changes in service attendance, abilities, and the needs of our community. With the addition, some existing services will also see changes. Our Saturday afternoon and Wednesday morning services will be replaced with the new Wednesday service at 6pm. I know for some this will be bittersweet and require a shift, but I believe that this is a change that will invigorate our congregation and offer a chance to worship mid-week for all of us, including our parishioners who are unable to attend activities during the day.

We will continue the Saturday 5pm service and the Wednesday 10am services through the month of January. Our new Wednesday evening service at 6pm will begin on February 2nd.

One of the things we will always do together is Joyfully Worship the Lord. I hope you’ll join us for this new worship opportunity, and as always please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have.

Blessings,

Rev. Whitney+
