Our church’s 140th Anniversary Celebration, in February 2026, will give us lots of opportunities to celebrate our theme, “The Legacy Continues.” One special way to celebrate will be with the commissioning of a choir anthem composed for the occasion. Lloyd Larson (one of the composers/conductors of our Carnegie Hall concert visit last month ) has been commissioned by Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd to write an anthem for us to premiere on Sunday, February 8, 2026. It’s very likely that it will be published considering the stature of this composer in the church music world.

You are invited to contribute to the cost of this project which is $2,500. Write “commissioned anthem” on your check or you may also give online through Realm. A list of persons making a gift (names only, not the amount) will be published in the bulletin on February 8, 2026.
Any funds collected in excess of the commission fee will be applied to other 140th Anniversary Celebration related costs.
