When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

This Pentecost Sunday we celebrate the Day of Pentecost, aka Happy Birthday churches! On this holy day, we remind ourselves that the Holy Spirit dwells among and within us, and connects us all as one body in Christ.
A tradition for Pentecost — wear red to church! 
This year Pentecost falls on Memorial Day weekend. During each worship service we will read aloud the names of those who lost their lives serving in the armed forces.
