“And Mary said, ‘My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior…’” ~ Luke 1:46-47, NRSV
Dear Friends,
We have begun our Stewardship campaign, “Tell Out My Soul,” which gives us the chance to reflect on the many ways that we are connected to each other. Our theme this year focuses on the stories we tell and ways we are called to share our words, our actions, our love, and our joys with the world. With all that has been going on in the news, in our homes, schools and offices, and ever-shifting economic forecasts, the one constant has been the connections we have formed here at Good Shepherd.
Our campaign kicked off on Nov. 2nd. We gathered in Kirk Hall for our Volunteer Appreciation celebration and brunch. We were in awe of how we all use our individual time and talents to keep the ministries of the church alive and well! It led to a great sharing among us and the realization of how we work well together to do God’s work. As we participate in our ministries, our souls are transformed and inspired to do Bible study, music, art, community outreach, maintenance, etc. Thank you, thank you!
God calls us not only to use our time and talents to His glory but also to give our “treasure” generously with a grateful heart. Please consider how many blessings you have received over the last year. Perhaps it’s time to give back to the very place that helps to nourish you week after week. We cannot be an example of love and compassion for Good Shepherd and the community without your financial gift. Enclosed is a pledge card to be prayerfully filled out. We invite you to return it to the office or place it in the offering plate on Sun. Nov. 23rd so that it may be blessed and be a part of our Ingathering.
Please continue to Tell Out YOUR Soul, the Greatness of the Lord! We are blessed!
Your Friends in Christ,
