Programs and Activities for Children and Youth at Good Shepherd

Sunday School* for students in Elementary School is offered Sunday mornings during the 10 AM service. All kiddos meet in the church with their families, process down the aisle with clergy and servers, and then immediately head to class with their teachers. Kiddos will return to their families inside the church prior to communion. Sunday School follows the Pinellas County public school schedule, breaking for winter and summer recesses. (See note* below about stay-in-church options for children.)

The first official Sunday School day for the 2025-2026 year is on Sunday, August 17. Other Sunday Kiddo events are held throughout the year. Check our EVENTS for more info.

Youth Group formation for students in Middle and High School in our newly constructed, upstairs classroom is underway! Youth Group meets every 2nd Sunday after the 10 AM service. All students in grades 6 - 12 are invited. Lunch is provided. Special events for youth are held throughout the year. Keep an eye on our announcements for details.
P.S. - There are Adult Formation opportunities at this time, too!

Regular Youth Group meetings pause for June - August and resume in September. Other events are held through the summer. Check our EVENTS for more info.

Nursery Care for Infants and Toddlers -  Bambinos from infants through Pre-K are invited to join us in the Nursery from 9:45 AM through the end of 10 AM Sunday services. Their dedicated space on the first floor of the education building is ready with music, snacks, age-appropriate activities, and places to nap. Little ones are welcome to spend all or just part of the service with our team of dedicated Nursery staff.

Caregivers are versed in infant CPR & first-aid, certified according to the Diocesan Safeguarding policy, and have undergone background checks.

* - Please note, children are always welcome and invited to stay in church with their family on Sunday (we really mean it!) if that is your preference. Our church family is filled with grandparents who love hearing and seeing children and babies. We have kiddo activity bags packed with quiet play items and crafts available at both the 8 AM & 10 AM Sunday services. Just let an Usher know you would like a bag. (Bags are best for those aged 3+, but have items suitable for toddlers with supervision.)

If you have any questions or would like more info, please contact our Children’s Ministry Director.
